Sunshine Coast French Festival - 29 July 2018
I had joined forces with 2017 MasterChef alumni team Bryan Zhu, Michelle Lukman and Callan Smith. We were asked to create French food demonstrations for the first Sunshine Coast French Festival in Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Also, other MasterChef alumni came to visit us over the fun and crazy weekend, our beautiful friend Nicole Stevenson and Benita Orwell! Our demo’s were at the Cuisine Corner of the main Ile de France marketplace area on Sat 28th/Sun 29th July - both individual and also as a team. the festival was an absolute success!
We had so much fun and it was brilliant cooking with these talented foodie friends over the festival weekend. The huge crowds loved the French atmosphere, with all day grounds and stage entertainment, food demo’s, food trucks, as well as our team’s demo’s. Thank you to Lynette who had organised the entire festival and our gorgeous friend Sue from ‘Josh&Sue’ who took care of us with transportation and all things foodie.
On our last day on the Sunshine Coast, our new friend Tracy from the festival drove us to visit ‘La Maison du Patissier’ to see amazing Pastry Chef Eric Pernoud and his wife Francoise, they were also part of the Sunshine Coast French Festival. We share food stories and were spoilt with amazing food, a true French experience and shared with great people. I had the best French onion soup, Creme Brûlée, Lemon Tart...were just a few of the many indulgent dishes we devoured. We even helped roll some Pain au Chocolat!
